A Book a Week
This year I fell short of my goal to read a book a week; my excuse is a semester in graduate school, during which I spent three weeks bashing my brains in against George Eliot's longest work. And Dickens. Don't talk to me about Dickens. Dickens is Mervyn Peake without the acid trips, and I need the acid trips to make the effort of bending my brain around the prose worthwhile. Many of these works listed are graphic novels, which makes my achievement (or lack thereof) even more depressing. What, I couldn't dig up 10 more books comprised primarily of pictures, even to flesh out a list of 52 books? Feh.
